One of my new year’s resolutions is to buy pretty much any game if it is interesting and under £5. When I saw Let’s Tap for £4.97 this immediately rang my must have bell.
Now I would never had bought this game at full price and I don’t know how much it came out at, but even if it was as cheap as £17.99, it wouldn’t have registered as a purchase for me. At the under a fiver price point though, I was happy to give the game a chance, and I have to say it was well worth taking it.
If you aren’t familiar with the game, the controls involve setting the Wii Remote face down on a box (2 boxes are included with the game). As the game’s title suggests you simply just tap the box. I have only played “Tap Runner” so far which is one of the five party game modes. In this mode there is a four lane track, with four characters. In 1 player mode the other 3 characters are controlled by the CPU and it is a race to the finish line. Repeatedly tapping lightly will make your character run. Tap a bit firmer and the character jumps (harder taps make it jump higher). Early stages present simple hurdles while later stages add much more difficult obstacles to contend with. As I have only played by myself, it is fun but the potential for multi player fun is much better. I look forward to trying out the other game modes and hopefully play some multi player, as this game is obviously designed for more than 1 person. Well worth the small amount I paid for it, and I look forward to more under a fiver purchases in the future.
